My name is Liew, founder of Attorneys on the Spot; I was a case manager of a law firm for almost 5 years. My experience tells me that one of the most common pitfalls I encountered when I used to rush to different courthouses usually starts when an attorney that was supposed to appear in the hearing cancels their appearance in the very last minute. That has led my law firm to be sanctioned on many different occasions. Some other times, the appearance attorneys never read the pleadings before showing at the courthouse, and they are so unprepared that they don’t know what they’re supposed to do at the hearing, and the clients they represent get frustrated and make complaints against the attorney I used to work with. In one occasion, one appearance attorney was standing in front of the judge, stared right in his eyes, and just told him: “Your honor, I don’t know what I’m doing here.
